The Best Remains

This is what Corrie ten Boom said about the filming of The Hiding Place movie.

“Sometimes it was very difficult, as it showed the happy family life I enjoyed many years ago – it made me very homesick. Then came the time of the arrest and imprisonment, and I had to relive it all again. It was not easy. I had to say, ‘Lord, I cannot go through this again…to see my family suffer…’ The reality was not less than I remembered.
Then I got an encouragement from the Lord: ‘It was the start of your suffering, but now you can see it was the start of work in My kingdom, because now I have used you in your talks, in books, and in the movie to bring the Gospel to many, many people,’ and in that moment I had to thank the Lord. Hallelujah!
Isn’t it a joy to think the Lord can use all these experiences to show that whatever happens to you in life, when you are a child of God, the best remains.”
-Corrie ten Boom, Corrie, The Lives She’s Touched

“He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us.”
-2 Corinthians 1:4

I must confess, I didn’t know who she was so I googled her. What a woman! I pray that I could show such courage in troubled times.
