Praise and Prayer Connection

Praise and Prayer Connection

We are already nearing the end of 30 Psalms of Praise for October.

These 30 Psalms are only a sampling of the praise that is found in the Psalms.

How wonderful that when we find ourselves lacking in praise we can turn to these Psalms and get an instant boost in the right direction.

So often in the book of Psalms we see praise and prayer combined.

As we conclude these days of praise, let’s notice the connection between praise and prayer.

Praise ~ Prayer

“There should be a parallel between our supplications and our thanksgivings. We ought not to leap in prayer, and limp in praise.”

Charles Spurgeon

Praise is a part of constant prayer.

God is with us at all times. We live in His continual presence.

We need to grab onto this powerful reality and apply it to our lives each day.

Living in this awareness will cause praise to happen easily and often.

He is not far from each one of us; for in Him we live and move and have our being,

Acts 17:27-28

Praise is worship

Praise is not about your circumstances but about Who you are praising. God is always worthy of praise no matter what is happening or not happening in your life or mine.

Sing out your praises to our God, our King. Yes, sing your highest praises to our King, the King of all the earth. Sing thoughtful praises!

Psalm 47:7 TLB

I will praise the Lord no matter what happens. I will constantly speak of His glories and grace.

Psalm 34:1 TLB

The following quote from John Wesley is a perfect summary of the praise and prayer connection.

Thanksgiving is inseparable from true prayer; it is almost essentially connected with it. One who always prays is ever giving praise, whether in ease or pain, both for prosperity and for the greatest adversity. He blesses God for all things, looks on them as coming from Him, and receives them for His sake- not choosing nor refusing, liking or disliking, anything, but only as it is agreeable or disagreeable to His perfect will.

John Wesley

Let’s make every day a praise-filled day!
