Let’s talk about books!
In this first blog post of 2022, I’m going to share what I’ve been reading this month and invite you to do the same in the comment section at the bottom of this post.
My last post was – 2022 Bible Reading Plans – and hope you found it helpful.
For my 2022 daily Bible reading plan, I decided to read The One Year Chronological Bible in the NKJV. I am also enjoying a wonderful private Facebook group for people who are all reading the One Year Chronological Bible. Leave a comment or send me an email if you are interested to know more about the group.
Books I’ve read this month
~Praying with the Church: Following Jesus Daily, Hourly, Today by Scot McKnight
For many of us, fixed times for prayer, when, instead of trying to figure out something to say, we say what the Church is saying, might just be the stimulus our prayer life needs.
I read this in e-book format and made many highlights so I can easily go back and review parts. The author does a good job of helping the reader to understand the history of prayer traditions and gives explanations of how to use various kinds of prayer books.
~The Infinite Day by Chris Walley
This book is the conclusion of an incredible science fiction series!
~Liturgy of the Ordinary: Sacred Practices in Everyday Life by Tish Harrison Warren
In Jewish culture, days begin in the evening with the setting of the sun. (We see this in Genesis 1 with the repetition of “And there was evening and there was morning.”) The day begins with rest. We start by settling down and going to sleep. This understanding of time is powerfully reorienting, even jarring, to those of us who measure our days by our own efforts and accomplishments.
This book was on my to-read list for a long time. So glad I finally got around to it.
Have you read it?
It’s a must-read!
~Under the Tulip Tree by Michelle Shocklee
I love well-researched historical fiction and this story exceeded my expectations!

Special Note to readers: This year I will be publishing a new blog post about once a month instead of the usual weekly posting. Sign up to follow the blog so the monthly blog post will arrive in your email. The next post will probably be around the end of February.
Thank you for reading and following.
