A Christmas in the Alps

Book              A Christmas in the Alps

Author          Melody Carlson

Publisher     Revell

A Christmas in the Alps is a new Christmas novella by Melody Carlson who is very well known for her many Christmas theme novellas.
This is the first book I’ve read by this author. I do not usually even consider a novella* when selecting a book to read but I wanted a relaxing fun book and this one sounded perfect from the description.

...For anyone who is wearying of staying home, Melody Carlson invites you to spend Christmas with her in the beautiful French Alps this year. So pull on your mittens, tie your scarf tight, and prepare yourself for a magical mountain holiday.

-from the book description
I was very much in the mood to read something cheerful and light when this book arrived in my mailbox.
A Christmas in the Alps is a quick easy read about a young woman’s exciting adventure in France at Christmas. There is a search for mysterious treasure, family secrets to discover, and a little romance to find along the way. There is clearly an emphasis on the importance of friendship, family, forgiveness, and love in this novella.
So, I would definitely say this is a feel-good story for readers seeking a pleasant light book. Perhaps best read while sipping hot cocoa with a view of the Christmas tree.
I’m still not a reader who normally will choose novellas but when the mood comes upon me again, I will certainly consider another book by Melody Carlson.
She also writes other types of books and I would suggest visiting her website to explore.
I would like to thank Revell, a division of Baker Publishing Group for providing a copy of this book to read and review. All opinions are my own.
