Corrie ten Boom was a great woman of faith. She was born in 1892 and went to be with Jesus in 1983.
When I was just beginning my journey of faith, I read The Hiding Place. I learned about how Corrie and her family worked with other underground workers in the Resistance, helping many Jewish people during WW II. God brought her through the horrors of that time including a concentration camp. She miraculously survived and spent the rest of her life proclaiming the truth that “There is no pit so deep, that God’s love is not deeper still.”
It was through reading The Hiding Place, that Corrie ten Boom became a mentor to me. That was many years ago and since then I’ve read most of her other books.
I know that the experiences of our lives, when we let God use them, become the mysterious and perfect preparation for the work He will give us to do.
Faith is like radar that sees through the fog-the reality of things at a distance that the human eye cannot see.
Faith sees the invisible, believes the unbelievable, and receives the impossible.
Never be afraid to trust an unknown future to a known God.
Trying to do the Lord’s work in your own strength is the most confusing, exhausting, and tedious of all work. But when you are filled with the Holy Spirit, then the ministry of Jesus just flows out of you.
We are blessed to be able to access so much of what Corrie shared through her books, audio, and video recordings.
The Hiding Place movie is available on DVD. It is based on the book.
Return to The Hiding Place the sequel to The Hiding Place was released in 2015.
From her daily devotional book Each New Day–
“Lord, I do not ask to see the distant scene.
One step is enough for me.”
