Until Leaves Fall in Paris – Book Review

Book          Until Leaves Fall in Paris

Author      Sarah Sundin

Publisher   Revell

The latest World War II Novel by Sarah Sundin is set in 1940 Paris, France. This is where we find two Americans Lucie Girard and Paul Aubrey. Lucie is a ballerina who is about to become a bookstore owner and Paul is reluctantly keeping his factory running. These Americans in Paris do not know each other but soon everything will change.

What I liked:

I very much liked reading about the operations of the Resistance. It made me think about the sacrifice, daring, and courage these choices involved. Risks were taken, decisions were made, and many times without the benefit of time to think it out.

Until Leaves Fall in Paris gives the reader some insight into the feelings and struggles of Americans who found themselves living in the city of Paris during 1940 and 1941.

What I didn’t like:

The book does focus much more on a romance than I was expecting which was a bit of a disappointment for me. However, I understand that for many this would enhance the reading.

There are many edge-of-your-seat pages, especially toward the end of the story to satisfy suspense lovers.

I recommend Until Leaves Fall in Paris to anyone who enjoys reading well-researched WWII Novels with suspense and an emphasis on romance.

About the Author:

Sarah Sundin is known for her World War II Novels especially because of her in-depth research of the time period. She brings out details that could only have been discovered after careful study.  She adds helpful historical information at the end of the book that answers questions you might have after you’ve read the story. If you are a reader of WWII fiction and/or non-fiction you should check out her website where you’ll find a treasure trove of interesting articles all about World War II. – https://www.sarahsundin.com/
